With regaurds to the comment yesterday Jonny I take it you mean people dont believe what i’m posting with regaurd to times and weights….
Here’s a video of me taken in the middle of a heavy weights program http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSDMSTrNeVA&feature=channel_page the commets section explains the exercises I done done each for 6 reps 3 sets.
My Bebo address is http://www.bebo.com/Drift_baby if people go to my Blog section you’ll see my training log (and how far I’ve came) which will show i’ve had about 2 weeks of since september, I started the zone in september and weight EVERYTHING religiously, hardly ever drink, I’ve gained a stone in weight but leaned out and all people want to do is neigh say and dis believe, I push myself beyond my limit in every workout. I will be down but not until after July sometime.
If people also want click here and see my time for dromore 10k at the weekend http://www.niathletics.org/opencontent/default.asp?itemId=237 45min 50sec with serious hills

Hi Sean, just approved your comment and I am going to say a few things before everyone else.

The video you posted of your deadlift shows you re-gripping each time which you are not meant to do on a set over 1 rep, it should be touch and go, this shows that your grip is to weak for the weight, also you round your back at the bottom of each lift and relax your body at the bottom each time, you should keep tight as this keeps everything supported……

    …plus, you wear gloves…

Sean, elite400 is the most supportive environment I’ve ever trained in- there are no naysayers or disbelievers there, I promise you. Some of the guys have mentioned your times, as in some of the workouts you’re posting pretty good times, whereas in others you’re posting faster than the biggest firebreathers in the Crossfit community. The issue is probably range of motion, and doing the exercises to the Crossfit Standard, which is probably why Smut invited you down for a few WODs.

    So your home again Ro.

    Ro:

Yup. Brought a throat infection back from London with me, so gonna sit out another coupla days. Itching to be back though, what with deadlifts, c&j and all that coming up. I suppose you’ve got the CFT or something scheduled for tomorrow?!

Ah, Smut! Is it too late to take back what I said about the ’supportive environment’?

    Sean:

I’ve always said and posted that I need to work on my technique, I’ve organised to get coaching, but the fact of the matter is i’m moving the weight (through the full range of motion).
The lifts in this video was done on the basis of strength training so as I was doing it from that point of view I see no issue in regripping as this was a serious weight (also the reason for reseting my lift position each time) and I was doing it solely for me, not for a WOD and not for a competition.
I’m wearing gloves yes, but I’ve never know them to add to the amount of weight the lifter can lift, unlike weight lifting shoes which i’m clearly not wearing in this video and many crossfitter use and after 145kg point yesterday the gloves became a hinderance at which point i took them off and as per my post yesterday put grit on my hands to dry up the sweat on my hands so all lifts after this point were done glove-less and in runners not OLY shoes.

Ro I appreciate your comment and I apologise, I didnt mean to call everyone naysayers or disbelievers I’ve just had people question me a lot, esp since I started crossfit, local footballers and other fit fella’s around my local area, anytime I’m home (Omagh not belfast) I’ve been down the local gym and showed them what I can do at which point they said alright we believe you, why do I have to prove myself, I’ve been into fitness in a big way for 9 years pretty much consistantly is it so hard to believe i’m fit?

I just post my times the same as everyone, I know some of my times are decent but on the flip side I have lots of weakness and there are WOD’s where i’d get hammered by loads of the elite400 members, since there is doubt about my posts this will be my last.

sean, mate i must say i have seen your posts and have had my doubts but have not said anything, some of the times are truly amazing but others are, well… truly crap, i wouldn’t stop posting man, just come down an knock out a few wod’s, have a laugh and enjoy the craic.

crossfit is a community thing and we love training with new people, …… so stop hiding behind you times. ;) an come train.

The gloves comment was purely tongue-in-cheek but maybe didn’t translate in writing.

Crap were have I been today. Crossfit debates, I must have been busy!!! I wanna pair of gloves to kip in my hands really really hurt plllLLLLLLLLLEAAAAAAASE Pleaaaaaaaaaase can I have them!
    :( :( :(
18.03 24kg cack cack and pure cackness. Really shows in me when I have 4 days off I couldnt even get one kip out today in the warm up.
Any suggestions how to stop taking so many rests, I know half the time I could push that wee bit further all those little rests I take are using up precious seconds so how do I stop that?

    jonny:

Sean, take what I posted as constructive criticism. As for moving a weight through a range of motion, that is fine but it should still be done safely and without rounding your back. The issue of oly shoes making you lift more I find untrue, I lift in shoes and Vibrams and my weights are the same with both, Glove will help you lift more as will chalk because it improves your grip.

Get used to people questioning your times, it happens…. it even happened when one of the competitors in the qualifiers done an amazing time on the heavy ‘Helen’.

It is human nature to question and I was only throwing it out there because we are always asked who you are…..

So if you feel you don’t want to post here anymore so be it, I do know you will still check out the site……..

Eimear. That’s the bit when me & Smut are telling you to do the reps and you stand there berating yourself saying ‘yes, I know! Doing it!’, but you’re not really, you’re just standing there…resting. ;) Talk yourself into it quicker. Wuvvvvv youuuuu :D

    Helzy:

now then, my time for the wod. I had a time limit of 10mins to do this wod. Right on the 10min mark I was 2 reps short of completing it, grrrrrr. Used 20kg bar.
